A bus equipped with a DVD player, television, stereo and computer games rolls in
to Robin Hood on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from the end of this month will be visiting the village three times a week.

It is part of a campaign to expand youth facilities in the area and tackle anti-social behaviour.

Coun Lisa Mulherin (Lab, Ardsley Robin Hood) said: "We are really pleased that we have secured this youth bus for Robin Hood.

"We have worked very hard with the police and residents to provide better facilities for young people, who have very little to do in Robin Hood on an evening. I and my colleagues hope the youth bus will make a big difference to the local community."

Coun Jack Dunn (Lab, Ardsley and Robin Hood) said: "I am delighted that the youth bus has arrived. These youth workers do a brilliant job and I am sure that young people will enjoy using the youth bus on a regular basis.

"This is great news for teenagers and residents alike."
