A fond farewell for '‚North East Leeds lunch club
North East Leeds Luncheon Club’s 22 members are now almost exclusively in their 90s, and without young blood to drive the club forward, the tough decision was made to call it a day.
But today’s final celebration at the White House Pub in Roundhay was one of joy, not sadness.

Hide AdShirley Woodman, who has attended since the 1970s and is now chairman, said: “It has been wonderful to be here amongst everybody, with everyone dressed in their finery. The club has been running since the early 1970s, and I’ve loved every minute of it. It has meant a lot to each of the members, it’s a hive of conversation.”
