Wildlife police in Leeds are seeking the public’s help after a slingshot was used to injured a gull.

West Yorkshire Police’s Wildlife and Rural Crime Team said the bird had been shot at a pond just off Killingbeck Drive in Killingbeck on Friday. They shared a picture of two men who are believed to have been involved, saying they had used a slingshot to cause the injury.

Other incidents reported to the team during the last 24 hours include two involving loose horses and another involving a loose farm animals. Six dog-related incidents involving loose animals, nuisance behaviour, concerns for welfare or bites were also reported to the force.

Officers want to hear from anyone with information about the incident in Killingbeck Drive or who can identify the men in the image. Call the Wildlife Team via 101 and quote crime reference 13220677004 to pass on information to the investigating officers.
