'A beacon of hope' - People of Leeds pay tribute to Queen in online book of condolence

Hundreds of people from across Leeds have already left messages of condolence for the Queen and her family, praising the way she led the nation with dignity and grace for 70 years.

Many of those posting messages in Leeds City Council’s online book of condolence have also shared their hope that she is now reunited with her late husband, Philip, who died in April 2021.

These are just some of the messages shared so far:

Dominic Connolly – “You served the U.K. and Commonwealth with all your heart, wisdom and true passion. I didn’t think that your passing would affect me personally but it has. I wish you a very peaceful rest and thank you for all you have done.”
