Pigeon Detectives: Rothwell band's flying visit to aid appeal

Rothwell rockers The Pigeon Detectives took time out from their hectic touring schedule to prove charity starts at home.

The five piece were back in their home city to launch Martin House Hospice's latest fundraising appeal, Little Thing ... Big Difference.

The Pigeons were at St Mary's School in Menston to kick start the hospice's Education Leeds link up.

The campaign aims to raise £50,000 for the Boston Spa hospice by urging people to collect their spare 5ps. City schoolchildren have already collected £20,000 for the cause.

Lead singer Matt Bowman told the YEP: "We got involved with Martin House a couple of months ago at a charity function. The charity really struck a chord with us."
