Their homecoming shows are part of a UK tour and will follow hot on the heels of a massive concert at London's Alexandra Palace.
Liverpool chart favourites The Zutons have also confirmed a gig at the Academy, on November 21.

Other bands who have previously announced shows at the venue include Primal Scream, The Last Shadow Puppets, Goldfrapp, James and Mercury Rev.

Based on the site of the old Town & Country Club, the Academy is due to open its doors in early October.

The 120-year-old building, on Cookridge Street, is currently undergoing a £4.5m revamp.
