Rothwell gymnastics star Alexandra Cooper is enjoying a summer to remember having won the British Espoir Championships in Gloucester.
Girls from 26 clubs throughout the country took part in the event for elite gymnasts in the 11 to 13-years-old category.

* Click here to become a fan of Rothwell Today on Facebook."In winning the competition Alex won the British Espoir Cup which she will hold for a year," he said. "It is a lovely gymnastic figurine which she keeps and she gets the 'winners sweatshirt' and a cheque from British Gymnastics!"
The Royds School pupil, pictured left, and the other girls who finished in the top five are now invited to represent Great Britain in an international competition in Germany later this year.
Her high rankings in the vault (second), bars (third), beam (second) and floor (first) mean the teenager will also be competing at Guildford on Sunday in the Espoir Apparatus Finals.
