Head coach Marcelo Bielsa provided an update as to his latest team news at his Monday morning press conference and revealed that Mateusz Klich and Robin Koch have both been granted early leave ahead of their bids to shine at this summer's Euros with Poland and Germany respectively. Koch is also carrying a slight hip knock.
Bielsa clearly has the international welfare of his players firmly in mind, perhaps worth considering in the last two games when it comes to the involvement of Gjanni Alioski (North Macedonia), Liam Cooper (Scotland), Kalvin Phillips (England), Diego Llorente (Spain) and Rodrigo (Spain), all of whom seem likely to head to the Euros.
That said, this is how we think Leeds will start out at St Mary's.
1. Illan Meslier (GK)
Still only 21 years old and all set to bid for a 12th clean sheet as part of an outstanding first season in the Premier League. Not in the France squad yet but surely only a matter of time. Photo by Laurence Griffiths/Getty Images.
2. Luke Ayling (CB)
Southampton tend to play a front two so Leeds will likely set up with a back three meaning Ayling on the right side of the centre back triumvirate. Still no England call despite his fine form. Photo by Carl Recine - Pool/Getty Images.
3. Diego Llorente (CB)
Llorente has now started United's last 12 games and again impressed at Burnley. Probably the first centre-back on the team sheet at present although it's worth remembering that Llorente is likely heading to the Euros with Spain.
4. Pascal Struijk (CB)
Can represent Belgium or the Netherlands and another 21-year-old making superb progress, keeping his place at Burnley even with captain Liam Cooper back fit. It might be that Cooper again has to settle for a place on the bench. Could also play CDM. Photo by Alex Livesey/Getty Images.
5. Kalvin Phillips (CDM)
The Yorkshire Pirlo is back fully fit after a recent knee injury and was superb at Burnley. Phillips is surely heading to the Euros and clearly starts at CDM unless he is rested with England in mind. Could even be pushed forward to replace Klich.
6. Stuart Dallas (RM)
The leading shout to be United's player of the season and another stint on the right side of a three man midfield in front of Phillips looks likely for the Northern Ireland international. Photo by Ian Walton - Pool/Getty Images.
